- Charles Burton was a trained blacksmith and had his own shop in several cities. Towards the end of his working days he worked for the city of Vancouver. Deborah reportedly was the only brown eyed person in the family and she was named after a Deborah McLaughlin (Nelson) who was the only brown eyed one in her family. [1]
