  Notes for Gordon Francis Parnell Morcom: Gordon was originally married to Kathleen Joyce Emmett "Joy" after the war. After six years of marriage and three children, Joy died in child birth with Sandra Gail Kathleen Morcom. Because Gordon felt he could not raise this small baby, and the fact that she had lived and Joy had died we feel entered into the equation at the time. Gail was adopted as a baby to May and Fred Preece. They were very good friends and wanted Gail for thier own. She lived a very good life with the Preece family and always kept contact with her natural father throughout her life. The Preece family also lived in the Ponoka area. After Joy died and Gordon has these three other three small children to raise, Joy's sister Mary came from England to assist in the care of the children and Gordon. In 1949 they were married and continued to parent the children together. It is worth noting that Barry was Mary's natural child with Gordon.
