When the late Thos. Oxely arrived from England, he met Mr. Ford, and beholding his stature remarked, "What a fine specimen for one of the Queen's life Guards." he sailed for four years, from the age of 18, and was an excellent hand from his strength and commanding voice. Lumber and staves being the chief traffic and the vessels loaded by scows.
In 1838, he purchased lot 6, N.M.R., now owned by Daniel Blue, and on part of which his widow still lives. | FORD, Robert (I35026)

Whenever a band was to be organized in Holly village everyone thought of Charlie Buzzell. During the 30 years of his prime, band enthusiasts within a radius of 100 miles have at some time listened enraptured to the melodius notes coming from this capable musician's cornet. But the old silver cornet is now packed in its case in the parlor of the Buzzell home. It served its time dutifully and splendidly as has its master in the field of active music. Memories linger on of a man loved by his students and by neighbors. | GREEN, Ellen E (I2287)
