Ill a Week, with Pneumonia.
Dreaded illness carries off a well known resident of Kent.
Mrs. William McGaffey, aged 79 years, passed away on Sunday March 14th at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Jospeh Shuart, Wallaceburg, following a week's illness from pneumonia. She was born in Ireland, but had made her home in this country for the past fifty years. She has been living with her son, Richard McGaffey, Raleigh Township, and was paying a short visit with her daughter, when she was taken ill. In religion she was a faithful member of the Salvation Army. She is survived by four sons, James and William of Detroit, Richard of Raleigh tp., Robert of Wallaceburg and two daughters, Mrs. David Baddes, Stanton, Mich., and Mrs. Joseph Shuart of Wallaceburg. Her husband predeceased her about twenty years ago. The funeral will be held on March 17th from the residence of her daughter Mrs. Shuart of Wallaceburg to the car station. The remains will be brought to this city, and sent on tthe Grand Trunk to Bothwell, where interment will be made. The services will be conducted in Wallaceburg by the Captain of the Salvation Army.

Death of Mrs. McGaffey
mrs. Pheobe McGaffey, relict of the late Wm. Henry McGaffey, passed away at 1:20 on Sunday afternoon March 14th, at the age of 79 years at the home of her duagher, Mrs. Jospeh Shuart, Emily street. Mrs. McGaffey came to visit Mrs. Shuart two weeks ago last sunday and took ill on Thursday with la grippe which developed into pneumonia nad caused her death. Ah shrot funeral service was hel at the home of Mrs. Shuart on Wednesday mornign, conduted by the Captain o hte local Salvation Armey coprs The remsina were taken to Bothwell for interment. The pallbearers were her fours sons, William, Robert, Jame san drichard mcGaffey and two sons-in-law, Jos. Shuart and David Shitallllllll.
mrs. McGaffeey was born in Ireland and was married tin that country in 1854 and has been a widow for nearly 22 years. She came to Canads 58 eyars and settled in Thamesville and afterwards made her home in Bothwell, until within ??? yeas of her death when she resided in Chatham with her son, Richard. The following family survicing mourn the ??? kind mother. Mrs. David ????, William McGaffey of Detroil, Mrs. I???? and Roert of Wallaceburg.?????

Anne, with her first husband Arthur, moved to Montana near Harriet Burlingame's ranch. They lived there during the time Clyde Mink was foreman at the ranch. Anne divorced Arthur Snyder and returned to Elgin where she subsequently married Charles Springer who worked for the Elgin Sweeper Company and later the Elgin National Watch Factory. While in Elgin they lived in a home at 456 Douglas Ave. After the watch factory closed they moved to Los Angeles where Charles Springer worked for Parker Bros. Furniture Store. Funeral of Mr. William Oldridge at Crediton
The funeral of Mr. Wm. Oldridge, of 'Fernbank', Searle-street, took place at the Parish Churc Blinds were drawn and shutters put up in all the business houses enroute to the church. The inscription: 'William Oldridge, died August 7th, 1919, aged 31 years.' The chief mourners wer Setter (cousin), Mrs. F. Short (cousin), Mrs. F. Balsom (cousin), Mrs. M. Burridge (cousin), Mrs. J. Trott, Miss Bricknell (sister-in-law). Others present included Mr. S. B. Francis (Cha Oldridge), Messrs. J. Symes, W. Staddon, W. Doddridge, J. and W. Murch, W. E. Huntley, Ellawa Doddridge, W. Middleweek, F. Hartley, H. and F. Trickey, R. Webber, R. Elston, F. Madge, Bolt, S. Middleweek, W. Wade. The Ladies' Conservative Club was also represented. The firm of (general foreman).
