Fred T. Powell Dies Aug 10 at FLint Osteopathic.
Fred T. Powell, G-8315 North Saginaw Road, Mt. Morris, died August 10 at Flint Osteopathic Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, August 13 from the Chappel Funeral Home, Rev Paul Pumphrey officiating, with burial in Flushing cemetery. A memorial service was held Thursday evening by Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge No 535 F. & A&M. He was a life member of the lodge and a member of Buick Local No 599. Mr. Powell was born in Flushing, a son of George and Anna Power, and had resided in Mt. Morris for the last 45 years. He married Susie Stevens of Clio in 1954. He worked at buick 37 1/2 years before retiring in 1963. Surviving are his wife: two step-sons, Lawrence Stevens of Flushing, and Oscar J. Stevens of Alpena, a step-daughter, Cora Rierson of Flushing and a nephew, Elmer Hoyt of Charlotte; 8 grandchildren.
