- He was only 4 mths old when his mother died. He was taken in by his grandparents, Levi and Pheobe Yeager, and lived with them in the 1881 census.
He never married. He was well known, and respected in the area and had the distinction of being the first ni the district to have a grammaphone. Charles was a man of shorter stature and had red hair, a marked contrast to his brothers who had light brown and dark hair.
