, NJ) marriage records (recording eithe r marriage date or banns as 26 Nov 1698) record her as a 'y.d. ['young da ughter' = unmarried woman] b. Siemeka.' I feel that in this case, in vie w of the time period, 'Siemeka' probably equals Jamaica [NY]. There *is * a Sicomac which is a section in present Wyckoff, Bergen County, NJ, bu t almost certainly this area was not settled by white men before 1690 an d probably not until about 1710 or so.
