    Notes:

Marvin was born at home while his folks were living at ____ Dwight Street in Elgin. At a young age he developed rheumatoid arthritis and Walt can remember having to carry him to the car so he could be driven up to a Mrs Holms to have physical therapy. During World War II he was drafted and sent to Camp Grant at Rockford, Illinois. It was only a short time when they realized that Marvin wasn't physically able to keep up with the troops and was given a medical discharge. One of Marvin's first jobs was that of a helper on a truck with his brother Orville at Landon Cartage Company. He later worked as a freight handler for the Chicago, Northwestern Railroad at the Elgin freight office on North Street and Douglas Ave.
