Obituary of MARJORIE MINK DAY Marjorie Day, 85, of Elgin died Saturday, April 28, in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born June 21, 1904, in Elgin, the daughter of Loren and Nettie Freeland Mink. She had been a resident of Elgin all her life and was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Sherman Hospital for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Sherman Hospital Auxiliary, the Elgin Women's Club, First Congregational Church of Elgin, and the Golden Years group of the church. Surviving are two daughters, Janice (Ralph) McKee of San Antonio, TX, and Cynthia Rodriguez of Chicago; a son, David (Christie) Day of Palatine; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 1978; and a brother Loren Mink. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 6, in the First Congregational Church, the Rev. Donald Schmidt officiating. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sherman Hospital Auxiliary. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, is in charge of arrangements. DAILY COURIER-NEWS - MONDAY, APRIL 30, 1990
